Editorial policy

Active Cycling Journal aims to make bicycle ownership easier to understand. We distinguish general guidance from personal judgement, check factual statements before publication and make changes visible when an error matters.

Accuracy and scope

Editors review articles for clear explanations, sound reasoning and claims that can be supported. We avoid presenting a general article as a substitute for an in-person inspection or professional repair. If a subject touches safety-critical maintenance, we keep the limits clear and direct readers to appropriate hands-on help rather than offering risky instructions.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions are made separately from commercial arrangements. Paid or partner material is labelled clearly so readers can tell it apart from independent editorial coverage. A partnership does not guarantee favourable treatment, and we do not present advertising as an editorial recommendation.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error or unclear wording, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review correction requests and update material when warranted; significant changes are noted so readers can understand what changed.

Images and illustration

Some illustrations may be generated with AI. When an image is illustrative rather than documentary, it should not be read as evidence of a real bicycle, person, place or event.
